The Department for Education has announced changes to teaching of relationships and sex education (RSE). All schools will be required to comply with the updated requirements.
To ensure we are fully prepared for the changes, we have been working with Diocese guidelines on developing a RSE policy which meets the criteria laid down by the Department of Education, but also reflects our Catholic values and virtues.
The draft policy has been accepted in principle by the Diocese and is the recommended policy by the Catholic Education Service. We are confident that the RSE policy is appropriate for the pupils in our school based on their:

Age
-
Physical and emotional maturity
-
Religious and cultural backgrounds
-
Special educational needs and/or disabilities
Governors are now seeking parental input on the policy.
The consultation period will run from the 18th November 2020 to 18th December 2020.
